Town

Town is one of the former tithings of Chewton Mendip which formed the core of the village. This extract from the 1794 map is more or less the centre of the 1794 map and gives an impression of what forms the core of the village. One significant detail is that most of the village was owned by the Kingsmill and Jenkins families.
