Thomas Dalimore was probably living in what is now called Eakers Hill. They probably had taken over from a family called Rosewell but the name of the farm appears to have undergone an unlikley transition to Reeves. The Dalimore estate was called Reeves & Nobels by the middle of the 18th century. |
Some of the Dalimores had fallen on hard times because they were in receipt of poor releif in the late of the 18th century. |
The Rosewell connection was still strong in the 19th century. Elizabeth Dalimore was a witness of the marriage Ann Rousell and John Loxton both of East Harptree in East Harptree on 13/11/1815 or 25/9/1815. The other witness was James Rousel. Rousel was one of the many variations of the name Rosewell. |
