Stocker

The Stocker or Stoker family have stronger ties with Emborough but Anthey Stocker was responsible for an estate in the Town tithing but they may have left their name in Stockhill which is near Priddy.. and they are not listed as owning land in the 1794 map.
They are listed in the 18th century churchwarden  accounts and the only reference to them in the poor law book is when Mary Stocker as made to mary John Bartlett in 1764.
Anthony Stocker was an overseer from 1767 and was a regular member of the vestry committee in the 1770s and 1780s. He probably took over Manor Farm from Doroth Yorke in 1766  according to a record held in the Hampshire archive (19M61/914). His daughter in law, Martha, was still living there in 1840.
