Manning’s Lane

‘s Lane is feature in the East End of the village opposite Franklyn’s Farm which leads to the private airstrip. It was one of the many lanes that used to connect the East End Tithing to Shooters Bottom.
The  lane is shown in the 1740,  1794  and  1800 map. A Manning Path is not shown in the 1640 map but it may have been a different lane.
The 18th century churchwarden or poor book and 1766 ledgers make several references to Mannings and it is assumed it was one of he farms that no longer stands.
