Rookery Farm Green Ore

Rookery Farm is a relativly commn name and there is  Rookery Farm between Green Ore and Nedge  close to Long Wrangle Farm. This farm is not to be confused with Rookery Farm in West End.
It may have formed part of an farm mentioned in the 18th century churchwarden accounts or poor book that may have been in the Middlesex tithing but the earlier records show that it was called Green Ore Farm.
Like nearby Shooters Bottom, it is not shown on the 1794 map. The 1800 map confirms there were buildings on the site and that Lasbury Lane formed the boundary between it and the Mendip Forest.
The 1839 tithe map shows a blank space called ‘Green Ore Extra Parochial’. Vespasian Farm, Green Acres and probably Pinelea Farm were later built on the site shown as Green Ore Farm.
