Baber

JBaber signames Baber moved to Barrow Farm from Bishops Sutton c1908 when his sons Herbert and Walter attended Chewton Mendip school. This sign that is in a barn near to Barrow Farm dates back to that time. Although relatively newcomers to the village, the family soon established themselves in a number of fields.
Herbert saw the new church bells being installed in 1913 and became a bell ringer himself.
Herbert was still the tenant of Barrow Farm at the Waldgrave tenants lunch in the 1950s.
