East Field

East Field was field involved in the sale of parts of Parsonage Farm in 1785. It was listed as number 41, 42 and 43 on a map that has not yet been found in the Hampshire Archive which holds the original list.  The former mediaeval common field had already been broken up but the name ‘East Field’ persisted. The 1794 map shows that some of the medieval strips can still be seen near Cutlers Green.
The 18th century churchwarden and poor law accounts include indirect references to the East Field and make reference to Pig Furlong that was probably part of the medieval  East Field.
