Water tower East End

There is a rather strange-looking building in the East End of Chewton Mendip behind East End Cottages .  It believed to be part of a private water system built by the Waldegraves. It is not shown on the 1902 map.

Other possibilities have been suggested, such as a windmill, but the remains  of the header tank can still be seen.
