Bowen Map

Emanuel Bowen published his improved map of Somerset in 1777 so it provides a large-scale view of the Chewton Mendip hundred that falls roughly halfway between the 1766 and 1794 maps and provides greater detail than the Hobhouse map. The map was republished in 2011 by the Somerset Archeological and Natural History Society as part of their book of the survey conducted by Edmund Rack for Collison‘s history of Somerset.
