Thayer

Benjamin John Thayer  was a farm bailiff in 1891 staying with the Habgood family in Everards Farm near  Nedge . He probably married one of the daughters, Christina and he was subsequently recorded as the tenant at Everards.

John Thayer was probably Benjamin’s son and he was also a tenant at Everards and can be seen in the picture of the Waldgrave tenants lunch in the 1950s.. These appear to be the only references to the family in Chewton Mendip.
