Transcription conventions

A book of Chewton Mendip churchwarden accounts from 1699 to 1759  (Book 1) and two books relating to poor-lawadministration in the 18th century form part of the research used in the production of this website.  The Poor Book 1730-1769 is sometimes called Book 2 whilst a third book covers vestry committee meetings from 1766 to about 1788. Pages from these books are being transcribed and published by volunteers as time allows.
