Stephen Wason was listed as paying  in the 18th century churchwarden accounts paying rates for an  holding in the West End tithing. He was sometimes listed with a John Laspor or Lasbury but the relationship between the two is not clear.
The family continue to appear in the poor-law records until the middle of the 18th Century but a Mr Butcher was paying rates for the Wason estate in 1754. No further record for this family have been found in the records of Chewton Mendip.
