Perry
Perry or Penny are a family with a long history in the area but there area relatively few records of them living in Chewton Mendip. Benjamin Perry was assigned as an apprentice to Robert Anstee of the Lain estate in 1793. A field called Anstee’s in the 1794 map and other records indicate that the Anstee’s estate was in the Town tithing. |
Thomas Perry was a tenant of a property near Chewton Priory c1807 (19M61/914) which may have been the former Anstee property. |
