Chewton Close
Chewton Close was a field involved in the sale of parts of Parsonage Farm in 1785. The Hampshire Archive holds a list of properties which were offered for sale and the people who were renting the land at the time. Each field is given a number which corresponds to a map which has yet to be found. Chewton Close was number 30 bu it was included with Lower Webbs Paddock which was number 29, Middle Webbs paddocks was 31 and Upper Webbs Paddock was listed as number 32 so it may have been part of the Webb’s estate in the Town tithing |
Chewton Close was not mentioned specifically in the 18th century churchwarden and poor law accounts paying rates in various parts of the parish. |
Chewton Close is not shown on the 1766 or map 1794 map. |
