Batch Cottage

Batch Cottage. There used to be several buildings in the vicinity of what is now Batch Cottage, marked with a red spot, so it was probably a farm at one stage. What is now the garage, marked with a blue spot, was once a wheelwright’s workshop. The buildings marked with green and yellow spots were demolished a long time ago but the buildings marked with mauve spots were redeveloped within living memory. This part of Chewton mendip may have been more significant in the past and now forms part of Lower Street.
